Emily Buckway
I have been a mom for 13 years. The fast paced business world could be compared to managing a home. I have worked many various jobs but nothing has been more satisfying than that of mom. I am here finishing my degree because my husband is no longer able to be in the work force. This is a great motivator for me and I am so happy to be here doing it. I have been out of school for 14 years and really hope to be able to push and stretch myself through this process. It has been a great adventure and I have already learned much more about myself.

My Mission Statement
I believe in being the best I can be. I believe in achieving the impossible dream. I want to build others so that together we can be strong. With each accomplishment I will grow stronger. With each setback I will become steel. I will forgive but not forget so that I can learn from every experience. I will push myself beyond every barrier. I will cherish every small moment to make a bigger picture. I will stand for what’s right and right those that have been wronged. I will live by integrity. I believe in a higher power and will let that higher power guide me every day. I will spread every kindness all along the way.

Me in 30 Seconds
I am a dedicated mother and wife to a family of 6. I enjoy crafting and sewing. I also enjoy many activities that serve others. Because of my love of people and my online sewing business I have had the opportunities to meet people from around the world. I have been able to send my completed projects to places like Ireland, Australia, and New York. My business has also given me insights of what it is to work under pressure and keep up with the demands of people who “know what they want”. I have been successful in raising a family and keeping up with the demands of school. I attribute my success to my ability to set out a daily schedule, budget, organize my space and setting a new goal each day. These skills will help me when I am out in the work force to be able to multitask, stay organized, plan meetings, and oversee the accomplishments of others.
Power Statements
I can work under pressure. For example in my business one customer needed a costume in three days. I designed, sewed, and shipped it in two days. As a result I had a very happy customer and repeat business.
I am a fast learner. For example in one production for our local community college we needed some pants to automatically fall on que. I wasn't sure how to do this so I took two elastic headbands and sewed them to the waistband then we put the bands under his feet. As a result the button popped and the pants fell on que and our dilemma was fixed.
